Latest News.

Check out the February issue of Popular Patchwork which has just hit the shelves in the UK. I have made my first magazine appearance. Those who know me well, know that I hate being in front of the camera, I much prefer to be the person behind the camera and to let my projects do the talking for me. :) In the Q & A I share a little of my studio, projects and more. Oh there is also a guest appearance from my "Studio Assistant" Elly.

My wonderful book Publishers, Tuva Publishing have also shared one of my book, "Quilting on the go ... English Paper Piecing" projects in this issue. I will let you see which one :)

In 2018 I am going to try and do more about ticking things off that "one day list" and I am super exccitd to say that appearing in an OS magazine was one of those.

Excited to announce that "Celestial Star," the cover quilt from my new book "Quilting On The Go... English Paper Piecing" is now availalbe for hand piecers and alike at Inklingo. Click on the pic to the left for more information.

Welcome to Lilabelle Lane Creations.

I am Sharon, the “English born Aussie girl” behind Lilabelle Lane Creations. I began my sewing journey back in 2009 after borrowing my mums sewing machine. I grew up watching my mum at the sewing machine, I even have memories of her making a wedding dress but the desire to sew never came to me until I had my own children and even then the reach for my mum’s machine was driven by a need to make something for another craft at the time.  Shortly after that I took a beginner quilting class at My Local Quilt shop and I was hooked.

It wasn’t far into my quilting journey that I first discovered and tried English Paper Piecing but the journey of my La Passacaglia Quilt was what got me truly addicted. The ability and freedom to fussy cut fabric and make the project my own had me hooked.

You will not find a colour wheel in my studio. I threw that out when I started my La Passacaglia and I am so pleased that I did.  Learning to trust yourself with colour and fabric placement, I feel, is important.

It has inspired my motto:

Welcome aboard my journey with fabric and thread..... Sharon x
